Remembering Sally

Sally Jane Spencer (Carvell)

Sally Jane Spencer (Carvell)

1955-2022 Aged 67 years young.
Northampton born, raised, lived and gained her wings.
Mum lost her mum aged 27 and her dad aged 35.
Mum gave birth to myself Sarah (40) and Victoria (37). After huge strength and devotion to her children, Mum moved forward from domestic abuse from our father living in a women’s refuge for near on 1 year and then remarried.
Mum worked hard all of her life for Barclays bank, making sofas, sewing in her shed at night, care work, canteen work to more recently, receptionist at the local leisure centre. Mum committed 22 years to this job with passion and commitment.
Mum took early retirement in late 2019 and booked a trip of a lifetime. She spent her pay out on her family, the grandchildren and children booking Disney Florida.
Family was everything to our beautiful mum. She was actively involved in all of our lives. School pick up, sleep overs, even weekly Clubbercise class with me loving 90’s/00’s dance music and exercise.
April 2020 diagnosed stage 4 incurable endometrial cancer! BOOM!
Fit active healthy no real symptoms…
Fighting 2 years to survive as she wanted to give more to her family, she finally was beaten!
We researched, raised awareness, connected throughout the world, we challenged. We cared at home until the time came.
Our beautiful amazing warrior WILL live on in legacy. Mum, Nan, friend, warrior is our legend ❤️

Candles for Sally

From The Peaches Team

Sally and her daughter Sarah have championed Peaches since we launched. They have been our biggest supporters and raised an enormous amount of money. They have tirelessly campaigned, helping to raise the profile of womb cancer. Sally was a kind and generous woman and a wonderful ambassador for Peaches. We are so very grateful for everything she did for Peaches and for all of her support. We will never forget her x

From Hannah

Remembering a wonderful lady, who played a massive part in my childhood. Wonderful summer holidays camping in the back garden. I’m so grateful for all you did for me back then and always being there through the good and bad times as a child.

From Katy Leonard

I didn’t know Sally for very long but her warmth and gentle nature made me feel connected to her within minutes. It was a privilege to spend time in her company and film her experiences of being treated for womb cancer.
